Re: Bird Song, Crazy Fingers
The previous review sums it up great. Neither AUD sources here are the copy I used to listen to, but I have to add that Walkin' Blues and Queen Jane are pretty good here despite issues on the former. Welnick takes the opportunity for a nice solo and adds some nice color on here. The Dec-Jan west coast shows had some nice moments.

Bird Song, Crazy Fingers
Not bad for 93, somewhat mediocre all around but definitely some solid playing. Jack Straw picks up steam, but Jerry's not quite warmed up enough to make it catch fire. Sugaree is a little rocky. Loser is pretty nice. The Bird Song has some nice moments, Crazy Fingers>S&D is the highlight & worth hearing. The last minute of the jam out of He's Gone is unique. Black Peter is good & finishes very strong..Jerry's playing his ass off. Sugar Mag is tight, & a nice ending to the set. The recording sounds a bit distant but it doesn't take long to get into it. 2.5 stars in general. 4 stars for 93'.
